Do you ever have those days when you just feel so inspired? Like there is this energy, just waiting to explode out of you! Days when your imagination is running free and you’re not held back by the “realities” of life (“realities” because I find that a lot of people use “being realistic” as an excuse to be negative about everything). Days when you want to do what you love, could be painting, writing, drawing, a sport, anything. Days when you feel amazing about yourself and could even hug yourself out of the sheer happiness in your heart. On such days I write or take a walk in nature. I have this obsession with trees, they just make me feel so serene. How calm they look, and knowing that they’ve been there for years and years. I don’t even have to be in a park, it could be one tree in my neighborhood or something and that is enough. There is just something special about trees (this just got weird).
Assuming you know the feeling I am talking about (this will be so awkward if no one else gets it) I have another question. When do you get that feeling or what triggers it? For me, I get it whenever I watch animated movies or classic movies or read a really good book. If you’re judging me for watching animations at my age… I am a child inside! Seriously, I have probably watched all the animated movies out and I am proud. They’re so imaginative and creative, how can anyone outgrow that? I am convinced that no one actually outgrows cartoons and that most people watch them secretly in their rooms (you have been exposed). I especially love when there is a narration in a movie. I like to imagine I am the main character and this is the same with books, I put myself in the shoes of the protagonist and I just enter this whole new dimension. It always leaves me with that amazing feeling. About the classics, I don’t know what it is about old times, I just LOVE them. Sometimes I feel like I lived in the past or something because there is no explaining my weird attachment to basically anything from the past; antiques, time capsules, I even like museums and not because of the boring history but simply how cool all the old stuff looks (you’re probably like… was I meant to relate to this post?)
I had one of those day today and I was just wondering if you get them too? Do you get that feeling sometimes? What triggers it in you? What do you do when you feel inspired? Do you have any weird obsessions like mine with trees? I would love to hear from you all, please let me know in the comments. Thank you so much for reading ❤
I feel the same way about space as you do trees. Looking into the sky at night seeing hundreds of stars which are lightyears away from us, have existed since the dawn of time, which we will never be able to reach, and probably do not exist anymore at this moment is incredibly soothing. Just thinking about the vastness of the universe and the mysteries that exist gets me very excited, and it is the reason I love science so much. Thank you for the post 🙂

The universe really is a mystery. So much is still undiscovered. Your passion for science is admirable, I bet you’ll do great things in the field one day. Thanks for reading 🙂

It’s books for me, and having the time and space to curl up on the couch and read a good book for an hour or so. There’s something about delving into other worlds through fiction that make me realise just how big the world really is. But, you know, from the warmth and comfort of my own house!

I agree! Reading fiction is the most relaxing thing. I really like Sophie Kinsella and Jane Costello
What’s your favourite book? If it’s possible to pick one!

Oh I love Sophie Kinsella for a real escapist read!
I’ve just re-read Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall, about Thomas Cromwell, and I really, really, really love it.
And my favorite author of all time is Margaret Atwood.
I think I understand what you mean about the power of animated movies, as well – I cannot watch “Up”without crying bucket-loads!

How have I not read any of those? Definitely adding them to my reading list! So good to meet a fellow book lover (if that’s a thing)
“Up” got me emotional too! You know what you need to watch? “Inside out”
Have you seen it? I cried like a baby lol

I watched it on a plane. Big mistake – the flight attendants had to keep bringing me tissues!

You really got me thinking about the trees. Now that I think about them, yes, I wonder how they feel, keeping all those secrets and history of every generation that passes over their ‘leaves’? Would you believe me if I tell that I know exactly how you feel!? It always happens to me. But how I love those feelings! It makes me feel like human despite the mundane things that I do everyday. What triggers those feeling? Mostly books and movies. But since I’ve been feeling a lot like it recently (which is also the reason why I created a blog), I think anything that shows passion, emotions, and faith make me think about almost everything. If your obsession is trees, mine is babies and the complexity of human mind and its contradiction with the human emotion. I love to play with babies and ponder what they think. Hehheh. I also love how, unlike adult, unafraid they are to wear any facial expressions.

Finally! Someone who gets the trees! Exactly, to us, our problems look like mountains but trees have seen generations go through much worse. Looking at them just makes me realise how small my problems are and that everything will be okay.
Babies are precious! Yeah they do wear any expression don’t they. They don’t have that fear that we adults have about what people think. They’re just beautifully themselves. Wow, I’ll probably be thinking about this the next time I play with a baby. Thanks for the comment 🙂

I think people just have to look at simple things that may inspire them, just like the trees and the babies, to lighten up the weight of the world.

Completely related to this. Trees, old stuff, all of it. What inspires me most is discussing the future with my family and what we need to do to reach our goals. I walk around with the feeling something wonderful is about to happen. And I become more productive because of it. And yea… I watch cartoons even when there are no children in the room.

I’m so glad you relate! And you’re an introvert too? High five!
I don’t know, talk of the future tends to make me anxious. I’m not much of a planner!
That’s really cool though. Thanks for commenting 🙂

Yep. In a world of extroverts, it’s nice to know there are people out there I can relate to. Nice to know you!

I get ” That feeling” all the time. I am usually inspired by music. music speaks to my soul. music correlates to my life. every moment or memory there is a song for it in my life and others. I also get inspired by movies and of course real life. We all get “That feeling” nice post.
